AI governance and technical security evaluation are complementary, not interchangeable. A policy cannot establish technical behavior, and a test cannot assign business accountability.
An AI policy and an AI security test are not substitutes for each other. Governance defines how the organization approves, uses, and reviews AI. Testing examines how an agreed application behaves under specified scenarios. Connecting the two gives teams a clearer way to act on what they learn.
Identify approved tools, business purposes, owners, data access, and integrations. An employee using an assistant and an application calling tools against internal systems may create different review needs. Record the intended behavior and the human decisions that must remain accountable.
For an agreed AI-powered application, testing may investigate prompt injection, sensitive-data leakage, and unsafe tool access. Define targets, accounts, model and tool configurations, test data, and permitted methods. Do not use real confidential information merely to make a test more realistic; agree appropriate handling and test inputs.
Record the tested configuration, observations, limitations, and remediation guidance. Changes to prompts, models, permissions, or integrations can affect what the earlier result means. Decide when another evaluation is appropriate instead of treating one report as an ongoing assurance guarantee.
VioletX offers policy development and AI governance alongside scoped AI / ML testing. The intake can recommend either or both, but the application owner and VioletX must confirm the authorization, methods, and responsibilities before work begins.
